Network

Become part of the SIRD community

Join a national network connecting researchers working on RNA biology, RNA technologies, and RNA-related diseases across Switzerland.

Why join SIRD?

SIRD brings together researchers, clinicians, students, and scientific professionals who share an interest in RNA research and its applications in health and disease.

Membership offers opportunities to connect across disciplines, exchange scientific ideas, participate in events, and contribute to the development of the Swiss RNA research community.

SIRD membership is intended for researchers and professionals who are actively involved in, or strongly connected to, RNA-related research and innovation in Switzerland.

How membership works

1

Submit your request

Send us your membership request and briefly describe your research interests, affiliation, and connection to RNA research.

2

Review by the committee

Your request will be reviewed by the SIRD Steering Committee.

3

Join the network

Membership decisions are made by vote. Once accepted, you become part of the growing SIRD network.

Who can apply?

Researchers at Swiss universities, hospitals, research institutes, and companies working in RNA biology, RNA medicine, biotechnology, or related fields.

What can members contribute?

Members can contribute by participating in events, supporting education, sharing expertise, fostering collaborations, and helping shape the future of RNA research in Switzerland.

Why Join SIRD - Swiss Initiative for RNA & Disease?

SIRD brings together researchers across Switzerland and beyond who share a common interest in RNA biology, RNA medicine, and RNA-related technologies. Building on the strong foundation of the former NCCR RNA & Disease network, SIRD aims to foster long-term scientific exchange, collaboration, and community within the Swiss RNA field.

Benefits of Joining SIRD

Become part of a strong RNA research network
Connect with leading researchers, clinicians, industry partners, and young scientists working across diverse areas of RNA science and disease research.

Access to scientific events and networking opportunities
Participate in seminars, workshops, retreats, symposia, and community events designed to encourage interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration.

Support for early-career researchers
SIRD is committed to promoting the next generation of RNA scientists through networking opportunities, visibility, and community engagement.

Stay informed about developments in the RNA field
Receive updates about upcoming events, scientific initiatives, funding opportunities, and community news within the Swiss and international RNA landscape.

Strengthen collaborations across institutions
SIRD connects researchers from universities, research institutes, hospitals, and industry partners across Switzerland and internationally.

Contribute to the future of the Swiss RNA community
Help shape a sustainable and collaborative platform that continues to support RNA research and innovation beyond the NCCR funding period.

Increase visibility for your research and activities
Members can showcase their laboratories, publications, events, and scientific activities through the SIRD network and communication channels.A Community-Driven InitiativeSIRD is more than a scientific network — it is a collaborative community dedicated to advancing RNA research, supporting scientific exchange, and strengthening Switzerland’s position in the rapidly evolving field of RNA biology and therapeutics. We warmly welcome researchers and groups who would like to contribute to and benefit from this growing initiative.

Would you like to join the SIRD network?

Researchers interested in joining the Swiss Initiative for RNA & Disease (SIRD) are invited to contact the SIRD Secretariat by email at office@sird.info to request further information and application details.

After submitting an application, the candidate's membership request will be reviewed by the SIRD Steering Committee. Membership decisions are made by vote of the Steering Committee in accordance with the association's statutes and membership criteria. For applicants who were not previously members of the NCCR RNA & Disease network, additional supporting documents may be requested, such as: A short motivation letter outlining the applicant's interest in joining SIRD current curriculum vitae (CV).
